Reviews for Al Qaysar - مطعم القيصر
Review highlights
Based on 703 reviewsAl Qaysar - مطعم القيصر is widely appreciated for its flavorful Mediterranean and Arabic dishes, particularly the shawarma, falafel, and hummus, which are noted for quality and generous portions. Customers highlight the good value for money, with many praising the sizable servings that often exceed expectations. The restaurant’s vibrant, bustling atmosphere reflects its popularity, though this sometimes leads to slower service and occasional difficulty securing seating without reservations. While most main dishes receive positive feedback, some items like mandi and certain curries garner mixed reviews. Friendly and attentive staff contribute to a welcoming dining experience, making Al Qaysar a favored spot for both casual meals and family gatherings in Ermita, Manila.
Best Arabic shawarma and chicken tikka. Mandi is below average. Their staff is friendly, always smiling.
Went on a busy Saturday evening so the staff seemed very busy and had some problems seating us at first. We ordered the breakfast set with pita, falafel (great quality), hummus, and veggies (available anytime apparently) which had great value for money since it was relatively cheap for what it offered. For the mains we got the Butter Chicken, which was just ok, and the Lamb biryani, which was the highlight in my opinion. Huge portions served in a pot with very tender lamb and spices underneath. Would recommend going here during weekdays when they aren’t too full.
Ordered a zinger for take-out (the Shawarma grill closed at 12mn and it's 1am). I have to say, it was one of the best sandwiches I've had. Adequately priced since it was bigger than my foot. I'm an inch shy from being a sox-footer so go figure. I'll come back if I get the chance.
My daughter and I went to AL QAYSAR near Mabini Malate tonight for Mediterranean food since we were craving something spicy. The Al Qaysar restaurant is always busy and often full, so you'll definitely have to wait. Since my daughter comes here regularly and eats here every month, she has become accustomed to reserving a seat. It's important to make reservations to avoid waiting for your seats. I'm not a fan of rice, but biryani is something I enjoy eating a lot! Their lamb tikka here is the best thing I've ever found. It's so juicy and tender! Moreover, their yogurt drink is something I really enjoy It's superb!
Service is quite slow but understandable that the place is usually packed with customers (usually families). Their serving portion is hugeee — don’t be fooled at what’s written that it’s good for 2 ppl. I guess given the big servings, the price is fair. I loved their falafels and hummus. The falafels were perfectly fried and crispy. The hummus was mild but still flavorful. Order their breakfast set to get both, which is also served with naan and black tea. The lamb biryani was tender but slightly gamey. The serving portion was good for 4-5 people in my opinion. The rice was fragrant and flavorful and served in a clay pot. The chicken masala was standard, tho slightly salty. Overall, a reliable place to get your mediterranean food. Just don’t mistakenly go to their shisha area or you might leave too early (I can’t bear the smell and smoke).
We tried Al Qaysar Restaurant in Ermita and the food was surprisingly really good! We had Kabsa, Garlic Onion Lamb, and Tandoori Chicken with pita. Since I can’t eat beef, we went for lamb instead and it didn’t disappoint—the Garlic Onion Lamb was so tender and tasty. The Kabsa also had that authentic Arab flavor we were looking for. The biggest surprise was the Tandoori Chicken. We don’t usually order chicken, but theirs was juicy, flavorful, and went perfectly with the pita. Overall, such a good find if you’re craving authentic Arab food in Manila. Definitely worth coming back!
The best arabian food we can get in manila. As an indian i have loved the food here. The taste was best and i have loved it . Service needs to be improved.
